on being stealth
i started my new job last week, and no one there knows that i am trans.
i play rugby on a gay team here in philly and no one there knows that i am trans.
for the first time since going to NYU (and really for the first time in my life) i am starting a new life in a new city. no one here knows my birth name or what surgeries i have had or how long i have been on testosterone. no one knows that i wasn’t in a fraternity or that i didn’t play lacrosse in high school. so i’ve started lying. just straight up lying, man. guy sitting next to me at a bar? oh yeah, i’m 30. two kids? yeah i pledged omega phi psi at howard. go ques!
